Sumargad fort Maharashtra Sumargad is a less visited forts in Ratnagiri district. This fort lies east of the Khed. It is about 19 km from Khed city. There are no human settlements around the fort. There are two ways to reach Sumargad one; is from Mahipatgad and the other one from Rasalgad. The trek to this fort is through remote forest area. Very less history is known about this fort. Sumargad is the same as the name. 'Yengaon cost by holding a tree on the edge of the rising Goneen is said to have written about this fort. This fort comes along with Rasalgad and Mahipatgad. The fort is very neglected due to its difficult forest and the difficult way to get to the fort.
