Irshalgad Fort Maharashtra

Irshalgad Fort
Maharashtra

This fort is 3700 feet high, in the Giridurg fort. This fort in Matheran mountain range of Thane district is considered to be extremely difficult for trekers.

Irshalgad is a fort in Karjat division. Karjat, Malanggad and Prabalgad are the forts coming up in Konkan. On the way from the Kalyan-Pune railway line, Malanggad, Deoni's cone, Matheran, Peab, Mhasamal, Prabalgad and Irshalgad catch the attention of everyone. Life in this area is as common as it is. Due to the abundance of rain, rice cultivation is very large in the whole world. As the fort is closer to the highway, it is possible to drive by road to the town of Pitha.

History

It is wrong to say this fort as a fortress, because it is said that because Irshal is a cone. So, there is no such mention in his history. In May 1666, Shivrajaya took all the land till Kalyan, Bhiwandi and Raryi. This fort was in possession of the Marathas. Irshal is the strongest neighbor of Prabalgad. On 23rd January, 1972, there was a tragic downturn on the same coin, that Kumar Prakash Durga fell from the fort and sadly ended. Every year, on 26th January, Mumbai-Thane climbers gather here for its memorial.
