This fort is about 3000 feet high, in the Giridurg fort. This fort of Satara-Phaltan mountain range in Satara district is considered as easy for trekkers.
The fort comes in Shidribudruk village on 5.50 miles in the heart of the village of Dahivi in Man taluka. Maan Taluka of Satara district was reduced due to low rainfall and it was the fifth place of Durghaksh.



History

 

One of the forts taken by Shivaji Maharaj for preserving the eastern provinces of Satara is Mahimangad. Prior to the protection of the fort, Mahar Ramoshi was kept with 75 lords. The fortress of the fort and Sabnis are still in progress with the descendants of Ranjit Patil and Kulkarni.


 

 

GETTING THERE


Maharashtra ST (State Transport) buses and trains are available to Wadijetpur all over from Pune and Mumbai Mainly
The route of Mahimandhgaon: The route of fort to Satara - Pandharpur road is 12 kms ahead of Pasegaon. Mahindhag, which is located at a distance, goes beyond the gut. The road from Dahivadi to Satara can also be reached on the Mahimagad cluster. It takes twenty minutes to reach Mahinagad from Mahimgad Fort. The Satara train via Phaltan-Dahivadi or a train from Pandharpur via Satara Pusgaon also halts at Mahimgad Phata. From the Mahimagad village, there is a trek on the fort. It takes 25 minutes to get to the road by this route. Upon climbing on the fort, his impossibility is felt in every moment. One share goes to the fort only in front of the Zilla Parishad office.



ENTRY FEES


There is no entry fee to visit the fort, only ID is needed.

Places to visit on the Mahimangad Fort


  • ·       The elephant's beautiful sculpture is carved in the middle of the entrance of the fort.
  • ·       Inside the entrance, Hanuman's temple of Binhupara appears in front of us.
  • ·       In front of him, the steps to go to the bastion are seen.
  • ·       A little later, there is a beautiful lake of water.
  • ·       A trunk of the fort appears on the north side of the fort.
  • ·       Vardhangad, the northeast of the fort, all the premises that surrounds the fort can be seen.



OPENING/ CLOSING TIMINGS AND DAYS


The fort is open 24 Hrs to general public for all days of the week. One has to show their ID to enter the fort and for foreign nationals, passport is mandatory. It comes under Maharashtra tourism and department also promotes the heritage site. This fort is a must visit place if you are going on a Maharashtra tour.

Accommodation is not available on the fort. You should make arrangements for food at the fort. To reach the fort there is halfway from Mahimgad village. It can be here all the season.
