This fort of Sailbari-Dolbari mountain range in Nashik district is
considered as easy for trekkers.North-South range of Sahyadri mountain ranges
from Baglan in Nashik district. The range of the Sahyadrita, which starts from
the north, is called the Sailbari or the Dolbari Range. On the Selbari range,
there are fortresses like Mangi-Tungi, Sultan, Navegad, Tamboli and Mulher,
Moragad, Salher, Ghargagad and Salota are on the second dolbar range. These
forts are situated on the border of the Dang region, which is a thick forest of
Gujarat in western India and Baglan division of Maharashtra. Being on the
border of Bagulgead, ie Baglan, fertile, rich and affluent region, Gujarat and
Maharashtra, it has been influenced by the combination of Gujarati and
Maharashtrians such as Marathi. Since irrigation is very high, horticulture is
being run on a large scale, so the financial condition of the people is very
good. Mulherkha is situated in Satana taluka of Nashik district.
History
The fort of Mulher is an ancient fort. Previously the village was
situated in the fort. After an interval of time, the village got down and about
2 km from the base. Settle at the distance This Mulher village is of
Mahabharata. Its name was Ratnapur. In this part, Mayur swadhas became the king
of the name and the town was called Mayurpur. Then the fort was named Mayurgad.
When Aurangzeb won the fort, it was named as Auranggad. There is a mention of
Mulher in Purana. But the surefire information is available in the first decade
of the 14th century. Mulherk Fort built by Bagul Raje C. From 1308 to 1619, the
herds ruled here. On the name of this family, the area was named Bagulged and
its Appalbans Baglan. Bagul Raje is native to Kaniz. This Bagul family was
built in the world famous Mulheri. There were 11 kings in this house. These
kings were divorced by degrees.
When Akbar conquered the state of Khandesh, Pratapshah Bahirji was the
king of Baglan. He took the sovereignty of the Mughals. Later, this King made a
friendly relationship with Shah Jahan. In July 1636, Aurangzeb was appointed as
the southern governor. C. The Mughal kingdom was established in 1638 when the
kingdom of the great Hindu came to an end. Mulher is the traditional capital of
Baghlan. Mohammed Tahir was appointed as the first forts on the fort. This
Tahir has established Taheer in Mulher, and later it was named Tehbir. C. In
1662, soldiers from Mulher fort rebelled for insufficient pay. After the second
Surat plunder, Shivaji Maharaj opened the Baglan campaign. In this he joined
Salher, Mulher and other forts in Swaraj. The Marathas first attacked Mulher in
1671, but the holder stopped it. Then Marathas left his voice. But in the
battle of Salher in February 1672, Maratha captured Mulhergad. After that the
fort fell into the hands of the Mughals. Further According to the recitation of
Bhavki of 1752, all the territories of Mulhareskand Khandesh came under Maratha
rule. After this Trimbak Govind became the chief of Mulher. In the year 1765,
the records of the caste received in the fort are in the peshwa office. On 15th
July 1818, this fort was found in the confines of the British.

There are two parts to reach the Mulher fort.
Both of these areas leave Mulher village. Mulher village is a distance of 2 km
from the fort of the fort. After 25 minutes walk from the village comes a house
on the left. And there is a tree in front of the tree. Just go straight ahead
from the tree. Dhanwarwadi takes 10 minutes. Get a walking route from
Dhangarwadi In about 45 minutes, 2 shares are released. One way is straight and
the other turns to the right.
Straight walk: In the distance of 20 minutes, you reach
the Ganesh temple on Mulher Machi with a straight passage. This route takes 3
doors while accessing the fort. They are all in a dilemma. The wait is simple
and easy. It takes about half an hour to reach the fort by road
Right on the right: After going on the right side, in two
hours, we reach Ganesh temple above Mulheramachi. On this route, there are
three doors required for accessing the fort. This distance is far away. This
route rises through the scope of Hargad and Mulher fort. Due to this pass,
Mulher is left on the left and Hargad is right. This route takes 3 hours to
reach the fort.
ENTRY FEES
There
is no entry fee to visit the fort, only ID is needed.
Places to visit on the Mulher Fort
- · The Lord Ganesha Mandir.
- · If you go to left side of the temple route, within 10 minutes, the Someshwara temple
- · This cistern water is suitable for drinking.
- · The paths from the plateau are taken to the ruins of the palaces, there is a secret door here.

- · After a few steps have been taken by the Rajwada route, there is a scope between Mulher and Hargad.
- · On the way to the Temple of Someshwar, There is a 3-storey Chandanabav on the left side.
- · we reach the main gate of the Citadel.

OPENING/ CLOSING TIMINGS AND DAYS
The
fort is open 24 Hrs to general public for all days of the week. One has to show
their ID to enter the fort and for foreign nationals, passport is mandatory. It
comes under Maharashtra tourism and department also promotes the heritage site.
This fort is a must visit place if you are going on a Maharashtra tour.
